6th-8th Grade Winter Showcase
Date: Friday, December 9th
Time: 9:00 am -11:00 am
Location: WISH MS/HS Auditorium & Classrooms.
- 9:00 am - 9:20 am - Winter Showcase Begins for Families with Student Work on Display in the Auditorium
Families are invited to check in at the red table outside of the MS Main Entrance, located in the Park Hill parking lot, to sign in and receive a visitor sticker. From here please enter the Auditorium Lobby to view Spanish projects and artwork as well as enjoy a short video presentation of essay writing contest winners. - 9:20 am - 9:30 am - Quarter 2 Essay Contest Awards - Auditorium
The following students will be honored on stage for demonstrating excellent writing skills in our quarter 2 writing contest!
6th Grade: Emery Remer, Natalie Nakasuji, Gable Swandlund, Braxton Toomath, & Maia Leeds
7th Grade: Kai Barrozo, Celia Ross-Tropea, Evelyn Washburn, Emery Davis, & Carson Mylan
8th Grade: Bryant Johnson, Henry Chapman, Christabelle Hourihan, Ryan Scott,
& Olivia Vega - 9:30 am - 10:00 am - Musical Performances - Auditorium
Students will take the stage to showcase highlights of performances from the prior evening's concert "Twilight of the Arts". All choir, honor choir, strings, and honor band students will perform. - 10:00 am - 11:00 am - National History Day Projects - Classrooms
We will begin with a brief overview of National History Day and what it means to compete at the state level. From here families will use a map and a list of student room assignments to guide their walkthrough of classrooms to view and listen to a variety of project presentations. Projects include websites, documentaries, podcasts, theater performances, essays, and exhibits!
