Join the WISH Float This Thursday in the Westchester Parade

It is summer time and we know what that means, right?  It's time for the WISH community to prepare for the Westchester 4th of July Parade.  This year's parade theme is THE SOUNDS OF SUMMER and our float will emphasize nature in its most minute glory!

Nothing is more iconic than a restful afternoon in the green grass beneath a blue sky with puffs of white cottony clouds. You can feel the light summer breezes blowing and the warmth of the sun shining down on you as you listen to the buzz of the bees, and the flitting wings of hummingbirds while watching butterflies float by or ladybugs crawl across blades of grass. That's right - we are bringing nature to life this year with our float and want all of our little lovebugs (and BIG lovebugs) to don their antennae and wings to bring our float to life.

together all of our families and students from across the three grade spans.  So please join us for a ride on the float (first come, first seated until full) or walking, riding, scootering, etc. beside us as we walk down Loyola Blvd.  Wave to our community members and friends you see along the way and march along with the WISH OWL!  Every community member is welcome to join us on the parade route.
  • Total walking time is about 15 minutes.
  • Distance is 3/4 of a mile.
  • Departure time is still TBD but families are asked to arrive around 10:30 am. (TO BE CONFIRMED)
  • Attire is to be in conjunction with the float's theme - bumble bees, crickets, butterflies and ladybugs are all welcome.  Get creative and dress up for fun!
  • If not on theme with the parade float, we ask everyone to wear WISH RED!
  • Bring water, hats, and sunscreen just in case!
  • WISH will provide ice-pops for all student participants!
