Social Justice
When children are raised together in socially-just, inclusive classrooms, they are taught to value diversity, ultimately growing into adults who create community spaces and workplaces where everyone is welcome. At WISH we are committed to social justice, as demonstrated through our inclusivity and commitment to broadminded thinking in the classrooms.
We strive to create an environment where ALL people are seen as important and the uniqueness of each individual is celebrated. Our meaningful and engaging curriculum is meant to inspire children to inquire about the world around them, and make it a better place. The goal: to help foster the next generation of leaders and change-makers.
The WISH Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee is an advisory group comprised of faculty, staff, administrators, family members, and community members that help support the school and the greater population to intentionally move towards a more inclusive community of all races, religions, sexual orientations, cultures, socio-economic backgrounds, all identities, and all abilities. Through leadership, education, communication, planning, and other support systems, the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee is committed to ensuring that all members of the community are valued and included.
