The November 2013 issue of the WISH Insider is here! Chock full of interesting info about including a wrap up of this year's very successful Annual Giving Campaign, tips for making sure your student's items make it back home (hint: label!), the Book Ends Book Dash, LMU's Greek volunteers, an introduction to our 2nd Grade team and so much more!
Congratulations to the WISH community! On November 12th, the LAUSD Board voted to approve WISH Secondary Charter for grades seven and eight, opening in the 2014-15 school year. Board representative Steve Zimmer endorsed WISH and encouraged all of his colleagues to vote yes based on WISH's proven track record for serving all students, ability to serve as a model for other public schools, and ongoing cooperation with LAUSD. Thank you to our WISH families and community for your support. We are excited to be offering 7th and 8th grades next Fall!
WISH is enrolled in the School Cents shopping program and can earn up to $5,000 this year when our families and friends log their receipts at Santa Monica Place and Westside Pavilion between now and May 15, 2014. Bring your receipts to the concierge/guest services and tell them you are supporting WISH Charter. Our school will earn 5 points per dollar spent, and you can earn your own shopping rewards as well!
Our WISH students, teachers and staff had a blast dressing up as their favorite Storybook Character for the annual parade! Check out some photos from the fun day.
Check out the October 2013 issue of the WISH Insider for info about the Annual Giving Campaign, Character Counts! Program, our partnership with PlanetBravo, book reviews, an art project and more!
